Limitations

Now that I have researched and understood the purpose of my project and the steps needed to reach this goal, I have looked into and established the limitations I will face and how to overcome them

There are two types of Limitations I am facing as part of this project, firstly the natural or existing limitations; My need for further development across the spectrum of musical skills in order to execute and express my musical ideas as I see / hear them (The project itself will result in this type of development) and new un-expected limitations as a result of the current restrictions in place due to Coronavirus

I have created a list of the limitations I will face in this project below, and following that strategies on how to overcome these.

Personal Limitations:

Limited Music Theory knowledge
Need for development on writing / composition skills
Lack of experience recording original guitar / bass parts
Lack of experience in original productions

Environmental Limitations

Unable to collaborate and share ideas in person with other musicians
Limited Equipment available at my home
Financial limitation in regards to equipment / software etc

Strategies to overcome Limitations

- In regards to knowledge and skills, Motivating myself to practice and learn new techniques as I go along this project as and when required will give me the ability and confidence to transfer my ideas into a practical result

- Experience limitations will be directly combated by undertaking this project, the best way for me to gain experience is by getting on with it!

- Technology will play a key part in overcoming environmental limitations, social media, instant messaging, video calling and file sharing services can all be used to replace the currently unavailable human contact and communication channels

- I am fortunate enough to have more then sufficient equipment to make basic recordings and productions at home, any equipment or tools not available to me can be worked around and or I can make do comfortably without

- Many free sources of software exist, additionally instruments and physical hardware can be brought second hand or from a more budget friendly manufacturer
