Mixing, Production, Recording

On the practical side; Mixing, Production and Recording are three areas of importance for me to create music for this project (Outside of the obvious instrument skills). I will be undertaking all three of these areas from home for this project.

I have learnt the basic principles and techniques needed for this during the college year – It is the specifics that will come up as I make music that I will need to learn and develop as I go, Mixing my own recorded audio and producing music using software / electronic instruments.

I have found some resources I will use to aid me in the Mixing, Production & Recording of this Project.

- Virtual Instruments come in a infinite variety of complexity, sound & functionality. I need to aim for something simple and user friendly to begin with, using complex plug-ins and instruments will add additional work to a already substantial project.

- In terms of mixing I will have the advantage of having recorded all guitar and bass parts myself, meaning I will be aware of the audial qualities of each recording and be able to make adjustments where necessary.

- The internet is densely populated with guides, tutorials and examples of electronic music production, I will be able to find inspiration and guidance effectively regardless of the specific route or tool choices I make.
